International Fetish Day Ribbon

I have came across this event on Fetlife and I thought I would share with my fellow bloggers.

International Fetish Day started originally here in the UK, although it was originally called “National Fetish Day” first held on 21 January 2008.  Then annually every year since on the third Friday of the year.

It’s main purpose is to increase the awareness and the support of the fetish community.  It is also to symbolize its opposing to a new law criminalizing the possession of “Extreme Pornography”; section 63 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008.

This international event is also designed to encourage members of the community to be more open about their sexuality.

International Fetish Day is celebrated by the members taken part are asked to wear purple clothing, so now it is also known as “Perverts Wear Purple”, it allows those within the community to partake within this event without upsetting anyone within the “Vanilla” community.

Why purple you may be asking yourself, well BDSM and purple have been widely recognized to go together and have for many decades.

Another way to show your support is put this ribbon on a post or sidebar on the big day itself.  Also you can add it your Fetlife profile picture.
