Daily Prompt: Polite Company

“It’s never a good idea to discuss religion or politics with people you don’t really know.” Agree or disagree?

As a general rule, I don’t discuss either subjects with anyone as it is the quickest way to lose friends and make enemies.

I believe that religion or politics is such personal choices and therefore if people take part in a discussion with other regarding it.  Then you can feel that your choices are being challenged and that you will automatically become highly defensive and feel that others are personally attacking you and you choices.

So this little girl generally doesn’t not part-take in these discussions.  Although, I must admit to actually getting into a political discussion on New Year’s eve party which I attended with Boss.  The political discussion was over the upcoming vote regarding Scotland’s independence referendum in 2014.  The person was interested on my point of view as a Scot now living here in England.

As all political discussions that I have ever taken part it got heated fast, I had to remember to step back, hold my hands up and saying no more.
